Mutant Butchering

12 October, 2026

In the upcoming Anomaly Zone update, hunting mutants will yield even more trophies, and collecting them will become more realistic. We’re introducing carcass butchering!

Head, Ear, Haunch

A defeated mutant will no longer be just a “loot container,” but a carcass whose valuable parts you’ll need to harvest with your trusty knife!

The process is simple: the main thing is to buy your own knife and keep it in good condition using a whetstone, which will become available for purchase from repair NPCs.

More Work, More Loot

Taking the time to butcher a carcass will let you collect several basic parts at once—for example, two or three spider legs instead of one. Most mutants will also have a chance to yield new, even more valuable parts.

We’ve also reviewed the weight and value of all hunting trophies to better fit the updated economy.

Many mutant parts will earn you trade points when sold to buyers at Gurman’s Village, the Radio Tower, the Radius Outpost, and the House of Culture.

For Experienced Hunters

Butchering perks will be added to the character progression system. They increase your chances of obtaining parts from specific groups of mutants—from rats and spiders to polar bears and Paukan.

As stalkers develop this skill, they’ll be able to obtain rare trophies more often from increasingly dangerous prey. Butchering will become an integral part of hunting, where a well-aimed shot is only part of the job: the right tool, its condition, and your character’s skills matter too.
